Katastari is the largest village on the island, in fact the second
largest settlement after Zante Town.
Overlooking the bay of Alikes and hugging
the foothills of the central mountain range.
The Monastery of Aghios Ioannes Prodromos is situated close by and
was built in the sixteenth century.
The location of the monastery offers a beautiful view over the island
of Kefalonia and the Peloponnese coast.
